Massage Therapy Direct Billing

massage therapy direct billing

Massage Therapy is covered in most employees Extended Healthcare Plans. Each persons insurance coverage options are different so you will have to check your plan or contact your insurance company to get the details of what benefits you have, including:

  • How much coverage do you have per year?
  • How much are you covered per treatment?
  • What is the percentage covered per treatment?
(most insurance companies cover between 80-100%)
  • Do you require a doctor’s prescription?

Massage Therapy Direct Billing to insurance companies is a fast and convenient way to have your massage services paid for during your appointment. If your insurance company doesn’t cover 100%, you will be required to pay the remaining amount.

At the end of the treatment, you will receive a receipt for the treatment. If direct billing can’t be done with your insurance company, this receipt can be used to manually submit it to your insurance company.

Massage Therapy Direct Billing is available through most insurance companies. I’m currently setup with most of the major insurance companies including:

Massage Therapy Direct Billing Requirements:
  • During your first appointment or the first time you use your insurance, you will need to provide your insurance card or a digital version, it will then be added to your file for future treatments.
  • If a doctor’s prescription is required, your claim may be denied without the doctor’s note. (Common with Blue Cross) Note: During Covid-19, some insurance companies are not requiring a doctor’s note. Please check with your insurance company.

Please Note:

  • It is your responsibility to know your benefits and what coverage is available.
  • If for any reason, I’m unable to direct bill your insurance company, you will have to pay the full payment and manually submit to your insurance.

Most insurance extended health care benefit plans end at the end of the year. Any unused benefits don’t roll over to the next year, so if you don’t use your benefits you will lose them. Every year, there is millions of dollars in unused benefits.
