Is It Better To Get A Massage Before A Workout Or Massage After A Workout?

It’s recommended to get a massage after a workout.

There are some benefits to getting a massage before a workout as long as it’s just a relaxing (Swedish) to warm up your muscles and make them more flexible. Do not get a deep tissue massage as this is similar to do a workout, during a deep tissue massage your muscles are put under a lot of stress and require time to recover after the massage. (Usually 24-48 hours)

Massage After A Workout

Getting a massage after a workout is recommended as it helps reduce muscle soreness by decreasing inflammation and help reduce your recovery time.

If you get a massage post workout, stay hydrated and do your stretches, you will notice less chance of DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) that is normally associated with an intense workout.
