Massages feel so good because they release “feel good” chemicals called endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin that can give you a sense of well-being, reduce stress & anxiety, reduce pain and become more relaxed.
Massage stimulates your nervous system, decreases tension and pain, breaks up trigger points (knots), increases circulation and excretion of metabolic waste.
Remember to always communicate with your massage therapist if the pressure is too much or if anything is uncomfortable to make sure you get the best treatment possible.
As you become relaxed, you may fall asleep, drool, have gas or your stomach starts making noises. These are all possible when your body goes into rest and digest mode.
